Configure detectors and alerts in Splunk APM 🔗

The original µAPM product, released in 2019, is now called µAPM Previous Generation (µAPM PG). Wherever you see the reference, µAPM now refers to the product released on March 31, 2020.

If you’re using µAPM Previous Generation (µAPM PG), see Overview of SignalFx Microservices APM Previous Generation (µAPM PG).

You can dynamically monitor error rate and latency in the services you are tracing with Splunk APM. APM detectors use built-in algorithms to detect sudden spikes and historical anomalies in your APM metrics or Business Workflows.

You can set up an APM detector from the Detector menu on any chart with APM metrics, so that you are alerted about changes in data that matters most to you.

For more information about all the options for creating detectors, see Choosing how to create a detector.

To view active alerts for APM, see Viewing active alerts for a service µAPM monitors.
