Service Dashboards

Built-in service dashboards

SignalFx provides a µAPM built-in dashboard group with dashboards that display information about specified services and endpoints. When you click on a service in the Services page, the Service dashboard is displayed, filtered by the service you clicked on.



Someone in your organization may have created a data link that navigates from the Services page to a custom service dashboard instead of the built-in dashboard; when you click the service name in the Services table, you would not see the built-in dashboard shown above. In this situation, if you want to view the built-in dashboard for a service, expand the service name in the Services table, then use the service’s Actions menu to navigate to the built-in dashboard.

You can also open the dashboard from the µAPM dashboard group on the Dashboards page and then manually select the service(s) to display.


The dashboard group also contains a Service Endpoint dashboard, which lets you filter by one or more endpoints in addition to selected services.

By default, these dashboards show a time range of the past 15 minutes. You can adjust the time range as on any chart.

Custom service dashboards

As with all built-in dashboards, you cannot edit the dashboards described above. However, you can select Save as from a dashboard’s Actions menu, place an editable copy in another dashboard group, and then edit the dashboard to meet your organization’s specific requirements. You can set your custom dashboard as the default target when someone clicks on a service name from the Actions menu for a service on the Services page.


The Service Map chart in the upper left cannot be opened or edited, even if you have copied the dashboard to another group. Also, it always represents activity for the past 24 hours, regardless of the time range specified in the Overrides bar.
