The Services Page

The Services page provides the “big picture” of your environment, and lets you navigate to traces or dashboards related to a specific service.

To open the Services page, click µAPM on the navigation bar, or hover over it and then select Services. On the Services page, the map on the left represents the activity between services that was discovered from the recorded traces over the last 24 hours. The table on the right shows live, real-time metrics for each service and endpoint.

Click a service name in the Services table to go directly to a built-in or custom service dashboard for that service.

To see information about a specific service on this page, click its icon in the service map or click the caret to expand it in the Services table.

  • The Services table shows the endpoints for the service, sorted in order from most to least number of requests per second.

  • The dropdown menu in the service map lets you navigate to a service dashboard for that service (the same dashboard you would see if you clicked the service name in the Services table), to the Traces page filtered by the service, or to the Alerts page filtered by the service.

When you hover over a service name in the Services table, an Actions menu icon appears. Click the icon to open the Actions menu.

The menu will contain one or more data links related to that service. You can use the Configure data links option to create a global data link to a customized dashboard and have it appear on the Actions menu. If you set the customized dashboard as a default link, users will navigate to your custom dashboard when they click on the service name.

You can create multiple data links for a service; they will all be available from the Actions menu in the Services table. The first link on the list navigates to the same dashboard as you would see by clicking on the service name.
