Importing and Exporting Dashboards 🔗

You can import or export dashboards from the UI. You can export the dashboard as a JSON file for other users to import to their dashboard or dashboard group.
To import a dashboard or dashboard group:
- Select from the navigation bar.
- Click the global actions (+) menu.
- Select or .
- Select the dashboard you want to import. The dashboard file must be a file on your local workstation, and it must be in JSON format.
To export a dashboard:

To export a dashboard group:

Legacy import 🔗
Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring made changes to the import and export functionality on December 8, 2020. Files exported after this date will use new endpoints and a new file format. A new Legacy Import option is available for any dashboard exported before December 8, 2020.
If you have exported dashboards for safekeeping, you should export them again in the new format. If you don’t have these dashboards in Infrastructure Monitoring, you can import them using the
option and then export them again.
Failed import 🔗
If your import fails, check the following:
- Try the Import option, and then try the option if you exported on or before December 8, 2020.
- If you tried the Legacy Import option, and you exported on or after December 8, 2020, try the option.
- If your file name’s format is , make sure you are using the option. If your file name’s format is , make sure you are using the option.
